We are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join an Alternative Provision based in Shepshed that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs between the ages of 11-16. This is a long term and permanent role for the right candidates.
Pay: To scale
Hours: 8:30am - 2:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored educational programmes that meet the individual needs of pupils.
- Foster a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to create holistic support plans.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and their families.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, helping them to build confidence and resilience.
Requirements
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring within an educational setting
- Previous experience working within an alternative provision (ideal)
- Right to work in the UK
- A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Qualified Teacher Status is ideal.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children
- Experience working with SEND pupils
